We salute Shaheed Mohan Chand Sharma

Upholding the finest traditions of Delhi Police and enriching it manifold in his own way Shaheed Mohan Chand Sharma became a Martyr in the Jamia Nagar of NCT Delhi on September 19, 2008 leading his men from the front in a fierce operation against the terrorists.
He showed his excellence as Special Cell Officer and stood out in the literary field for his exceptional brilliance and analytical capabilities and field work that was super natural according to his supervisors.
As an Indian working in civil job , this story made me think : Have I done anything for my motherland? May God bless the great soul of parents and family of late Shri Major M.C. Sharma. The intellectual ability of our Police has always made them stand apart and late M C Sharma was an example. I feel too small in front of you Sir, M C Sharma. Jai Hind. Hope India produces thousands of such marvelous human beings. I salute to his spirit and sacrifice.
Jagrity and Rejimon

ADV MENON, Secretary, Kumudi Apartments

Please accept and convey our heartfelt condelence to the family members of Shaheed Mohan Chand Sharma. We know these are just words and nothing can fill the void for his family, who have lost a son , a father, a husband. Maybe these people like Mohan Chand Sharma come to this world to remind us of our duties and obligation to our country and fellow humans. We all feel the pain and sorrow his family and near ones are going through, maybe sharing their pain will make it a little bearable for them. R Dua

Finding it very difficult to describe his brave act. Words dont come that easily. Because first we dont come acorss such a galant officer, especially in Delhi Police. And that too look at the circumstances in which he acted. His son is in hospital fighting the deadly dengue, he has not visited is house 3 days in row, I am sure he hadn't had slept as well. Despite all the odds, he went ahead to be at the helm of the encounter, little knowing that it will be so deadly and ruthless that he will not live to see his exemplary deed. Its very sad. Our heart goes out to the family in this hour. No amount of words can fill the void in their lives. As i said very very difficult to describe the feelings one has. I am sure each one of us are feeling the same way. My heart felt condolences to his family and may his soul rest in peace. We can only pray to God to give his family enough strength to bear this loss.

I salute Insp. Mohan Chand Sharma & heartily appreciate people showing their concern. Please let me know how we can materialize these ideas & would like to contribute Rs.10,000.
Jai Hind , Pravesh

It is a great thought to collect a fund for the family of Shri Sharma. These kind of initiatives will give a great feeling for the police force who fight for the nation. Towards this, I have a suggestion. There are many nationalized banks operating in Dwarka and we can request one of those branches to open a special account for a specified period. The bank can give us a name and account number and people can either deposit cheque, cash or transfer and on a given date, bank can hand over the funds to the family.
If any of our member is a banker (preferably working in a branch in dwarka), may be he can help us open this special account. I am sure for a cause like this, banks will cooperate (may be the manager may have to take a permission from their head quarters).
Bank can give us the name and amount of the depositor which we can publish in our forum for information.

Should we expect some chnage in the Government policy and a little heart chane of todays' politicians. Dear Rejimon, please take my donation of Rs. 500/- for the proposed fund.

Dwarka Forum under your guidence and able leadership has been doing a fine job for the Dwarkaites. Just offering condolence etc., (I know it is a must) will do no good for the family which has lost its prime member. I know this loss cannot be compensated, but what I request Dwarka Forum is to ask / request the Om Satyam Partment CGHS to see to it that the Maintanece Charges etc are waieved for the family as a true gesture to Sh Mohan Chand Sharma. Hope you will give a serious thought to this suggestion and will take up the matter with the Managing Committee of Om Satyam CGHS. This porposal should be brought in the AGM of the Society so that the same continues without any disruption. with kind regds M.Viswanathan Secretary DWARKALAYA

It gives me a feeling of pride to know that Insp. Sharma was a fellow resident of Dwarka. A true braveheart, he had played a key role in solving many high-profile cases including Parliament attack case & the Red Fort case. He is survived by his wife, a daughter and a son (a student of DPS as per reports) who is hospitalised with dengue and from whose bedside Insp. Sharma left for his final encounter yesterday.
As fellow Dwarkites, perhaps we need to show a higher concern than just mourning the death of a true warrior. I suggest that this forum should initiate a fund in which the forum-members could contribute a token amount (say 100/-, 200/- or 500/- which IMHO should not be difficult for each of us). Given the 1000 plus strength of this forum, let's target an amount of Rs. ONE LAKH as our humble contribution to Insp. Sharma's family who have made this supreme sacrifice for the safeguarding of our metro.
Dear Rejimon, perhaps you could kindly formulate the modalities of collecting the money. To start the ball rolling, just let me know where I can send my Rs. 500/- towards this fund.
Views of other members are also solicited. Best regards to all and a salute to Insp. Sharma!

In my personal opinion, donations can not ensure welfare of his family for along. So instead or in addition can we ensure that his family - (parents, wife, kids and 5 sisters) must get sufficient compensation for their lifelong needs with some Govt job for their family member in Delhi Police/Govt
We can collectively ensure that his sacrifice should not go on waste, andneeds of his family must be fully taken care off . We can collectively pushGovt for this using various means with active help of our media friends. Suggestions are welcome, we have to plan / decide and act together as onestrong force to achieve some fruitful regular earning for his familyRgds Sunil Sareen

If today India survives, it is because of such great sons of the country like Mohan Chand Sharma who, on the calls of their motherland, even sacrificed their lives either during the declared war or cold war.. The courage of Mr. M C Sharma who confronted the dreaded terrorists even without caring that he is not with a bullet proof jacket, is beyond description. I am saddened when I remember that Afzal Guru, convicted for the attack on the Parliament is in the safe custody - in the guise of jail - of the government. It should not forget Mr. Sharma, the valiant officer, merely by conferring one more gallantry award but look after the financial need of his family like after him. Govt. should now shed complacency and show more will power to declare war against terrorism by tightening the laws and taking other desired moves to make the sacrifices of such nationalists meaningful.
